The New Western Land-sea Corridor Has Operated 5,000 Sea-rail Services

June saw 5,000 sea-rail intermodal trains now operated on the New Western Land-sea Corridor in 2024, equivalent to 250,000 TEU (TEU), a year-on-year increase of 20.8 percent.
In 2024, the transport capacity of the new Western Land-Sea Corridor has has continued to expand. Eight new stations have been added: Qianjiang Railway Station, Leshan North Railway Station in Sichuan Province, Dongchuan Railway Station in Yunnan Province, Jianshui North Railway Station, Dianwei Railway Station, Guizhou Bijie East Railway Station, Guangxi Litang Railway Station and Liujing Railway Station.
By May 2024, the types of products transported has increased to 1,154, covering 152 stations in 72 cities and 18 provinces. From January to May, the route connected with Beibu Gulf Port completing 126.91 million tons of cargo throughput, an increase of 4.96%, of which 3.513 million TEU containers were completed, an increase of 19.11%.
From January to May 2024, only Beibu Gulf Port (Hong Kong) completed 126.91 million tons of cargo throughput, a year-on-year increase of 4.96 percent, of which 3.513 million TEU containers were completed, a year-on-year increase of 19.11 percent. Among them, the cargo throughput in May hit a record high in a single month.
