Chongqing International Travel Agent Conference 2023
November 21 to 24, the 2023 Chongqing International Travel Agent Conference (ITAC), co-hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Development Commission of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Jiangbei District, Chongqing, with Hungary as the guest of honour, was held in Jiangbei District, Chongqing. The conference was themed "Nihao! China, Nihao! Chongqing". The Hungarian Ambassador to China, Mr. Máté Pesti, the Ambassador to the World Tourism Organization, Mr. Zhu Shanzhong, the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Travel Association, Mr. Peter Semone, Deputy Secretary-General of the World Tourism Cities Federation, Yan Han, President of the IFEA Asia, Mr. Jeong Gang Hoan , Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Travel Services, Mr. Wan Kai, Vice President of Ctrip Group, Mr. Zhang Xu, Director and President of Hainan Airlines, Mr. Zhu Tao, and approximately 400 domestic and foreign guests from 30 countries (regions) attended the conference.
The release of the International Tourism Cooperation (Chongqing) Initiative for the Western Land-sea New Corridor.
In order to share new opportunities for the development of the Western Land-sea New Corridor and jointly create a new future of tourism cooperation, 12 provinces (regions, cities) along the Western Land-sea New Corridor have fully responded and are willing to jointly release new consensus on tourism development, jointly build new mechanisms for tourism cooperation, and jointly create a new regional tourism pattern initiative, deepen the Western Land-sea New Corridor tourism cooperation, enrich high-quality tourism supply, unleash tourism consumption potential, and promote high-quality development of the tourism industry.
Chongqing was awarded the "2023 Asia Pacific Tourism Festival City".
In June 2023, Chongqing was selected by the IFEA as one of the "Three Major Tourism Festival Cities in the Asia Pacific in 2023". This is the first time that Chongqing has received this honour through tourism festival activities, enhancing its external communication activity, city brand awareness, and city economic extroversion.
Awarded the first batch of "Chongqing Tourism Promotion Ambassadors".
The Chongqing Municipal Development Commission of Culture and Tourism awarded 7 people, including Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing, Mr. Czegel Balint, from Belarus Ms. Olga Zelkovskaya, CEO of Peak One International (UK), Ms. Jiang Ao, and General Manager Assistant of Chongqing Hua Pont Hotel Resort, Ms. Hu Yanmei, as "2023-2024 Chongqing Tourism Promotion Ambassadors".
Awarded the first foreign-invested travel agent in Chongqing.
The People's Government of Jiangbei District awarded the license to KinderWorld International Culture and Tourism Development (Chongqing) Co., Ltd., which is the first foreign-invested travel agent approved in Chongqing.
The Chongqing Municipal Development Commission of Culture and Tourism signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hainan Airlines.
Both sides would jointly build a global promotion and exhibition window for Chongqing's culture and tourism industry, innovate and create a precise marketing platform for the world, and rely on Hainan Airlines' 22 overseas offices worldwide to hang up the "Chongqing Culture and Tourism Window" and showcase the image of Chongqing.
The Chongqing Municipal Development Commission of Culture and Tourism, the Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission, and Ctrip Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.
