Semi-finals Set for the 10th Maker China Automotive Remanufacturing SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The preliminary judging for the 10th Maker China Automotive Remanufacturing SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Chongqing’s Tongnan District has concluded. Thirty enterprise-group projects and thirty startup-group projects advanced to the semi-finals.
Launched on May 29 in Tongnan under the theme “Automotive Remanufacturing . Tongnan Power Creates the Future”, the competition, attracting widespread attention both within and beyond the industry, drew 183 entries from 22 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities – a 46% year-on-year increase.
On July 31st, the preliminary judging was completed. Adhering to the principles of “Openness, Fairness, and Justice”, seven expert judges meticulously evaluated the projects based on technical capability, business acumen, team strength, and innovation. Ultimately, 30 Enterprise Group projects, including entries from companies like Shanghai Jinchi Auto Parts Remanufacturing Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Chenjia Hydraulic Technology Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Prism Energy Technology Co., Ltd., advanced. Similarly, 30 Startup Group projects progressed, such as “GreenCycle Tech – Equipment for Separating Cathode Active Materials from Retired Lithium-ion Batteries”, “NingLi Smart Inspection – Power Battery Internal Defect Detection System Based on Spectral Technology”, and “Silicon Frontier – Pioneer in Green Remanufacturing of Auto Parts”.
The next phase involves semi-final training and the semi-final competition itself, which must be completed by August 15th. This stage will identify the most outstanding solutions, featuring the most advanced technological integration and greatest commercial value, to proceed to the finals, ensuring the high-quality execution of the competition.
The Chengdu-Chongqing region is jointly striving to build a trillion-level new energy vehicle industrial cluster. Tongnan District, strategically located in the heart of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, is seizing major opportunities such as the development of this economic circle, the Western Development Strategy, and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It is vigorously implementing the manufacturing-focused “Fujiang River Surging Ahead” Plan, accelerating the development of a high-energy modern industrial system characterized by “3+3+N”. Automotive remanufacturing and intelligent connected new energy vehicle components lead this system. To date, Tongnan has attracted nearly 30 automotive remanufacturing enterprises, including Chenzhi Anqi, Hongxi Auto, and Beisiyuan. The district boasts an annual capacity to recycle over 150,000 end-of-life vehicles and 220,000 tons for battery echelon utilization. Tongnan is rapidly establishing itself as an influential national center for automotive remanufacturing and is planning to build China's premier automotive aftermarket base.
