Chongqing's Consumer Power
The combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival "super golden week" amplified consumption demand. During the holidays, Chongqing launched the "Enjoy Double Festivals, Joyful Consumption" campaign with more than 350 themed events and over 300 million yuan in discounts. As of 8 October, total consumption increased by 8.86% year-on-year.
Among China's top five cities by consumer spending, Chongqing ranked first in both WeChat payment volume and transaction numbers, surpassing Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
