Jialingjiang Laboratory

The Jialingjiang Laboratory, one of Chongqing's four major laboratories, was officially inaugurated on 27 April 2025. It focuses on the field of "Digital Intelligence + Equipment", aiming to build the country's first research platform cluster for digital-intelligence equipment centred on concept verification and R&D testing.

Located at the foot of Mount Jinyun and named after the Jialing River, the laboratory carries not only a geographical identity but also the responsibility of serving as a national strategic science and technology force.

Three Core Focus Areas

Centring on "Digital Intelligence + Equipment", it focuses on three key areas:

  • The digital-intelligence foundation
  • Key components
  • Core equipment applications

Building on Chongqing's strong industrial base, the laboratory promotes the deep integration of innovation, industry, capital and talent chains to develop national-level capability in intelligent equipment.

Research Strength and Platforms

The laboratory now has more than 200 researchers and has established research platforms for:

  • Intelligent robotics
  • Intelligent computing systems
  • Micro-nano devices and systems

It has initially formed interdisciplinary capabilities in cloud–edge–end collaborative computing, multi-task coordinated control, and related fields.

National Intellectual Property Operation Centre Approved

In October 2025, the National Intellectual Property Administration announced the first group of recognised Industrial Intellectual Property Operation Centres, approving the Jialingjiang Laboratory to establish the Digital-Intelligent Equipment Industrial Intellectual Property Operation Centre.

This center is a national-level industrial intellectual property operation platform led by the Jialingjiang Laboratory, supported by the Administration of Chongqing High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and operated in collaboration with multiple specialized institutions.
