Hongyadong

Hongyadong is a landmark 4A-level scenic spot in Chongqing, located along the Jialing River in Yuzhong District. Derived from the ancient Hongya Gate of Bayu, it is a classic representative of mountain stilt-house architecture.

Built against steep cliffs, the complex has 11 floors, fully showcasing Chongqings unique 8D three-dimensional urban landscape: the ground floor faces the river, while the top floor connects to main city roads. At dusk, thousands of lanterns light up the layered stilt houses. Its night view resembles the bathhouse in the animation Spirited Away, making it a must-visit spot for tourists worldwide.

The scenic area is filled with local snacks, authentic Chongqing hotpot, folk shops and riverside bars. From the viewing platforms, visitors can overlook the Jialing River, Qiansimen Bridge and the skyline of Jiangbeizui, enjoying a perfect blend of old dock-town vibes and modern urban scenery.
