Yangtze River Cableway

Known as "the first aerial corridor over the Yangtze River", the Yangtze River Cableway is a unique internet-famous aerial transport landmark exclusive to Chongqing. Put into service in 1986, it used to be a daily river-crossing transport for local residents. Nowadays, it is a must-visit spot for tourists to experience the 8D three-dimensional terrain of mountain city.

The cable car cabin glides high above the Yangtze River for only 4 minutes. Suspended hundreds of meters above water, you can overlook the surging river, skyscrapers of Yuzhong Peninsula, Dongshuimen Bridge and Raffles City all at once. Riding at sunset allows you to enjoy both golden river views and the sparkling city nightscape.

There are two terminals: Xinhua Road North Station in Yuzhong District and Shangxin Street South Station in Nanan District. The south station has fewer crowds and shorter waiting lines. A one-way trip from Nanan to Yuzhong is highly recommended. After getting off, you can walk 10 minutes to Jiefangbei and Baixiangju for a full old-town sightseeing route.
