Shibati, which attracts much attention, is now under construction. According to the reporter of Chongqing Daily, Shibati Traditional Scenic Area plans to be officially open to the public in 2021. At present, the “project of 18 attractions” for Shibati has been made.

The experience project of Chongqing sedan chair to be introduced
The person concerned introduced that Shibati Traditional Scenic Area will reconstruct historic scenes through the “project of 18 attractions”.
It’s said that the “project of 18 attractions” includes two natural landscapes, seven artistic scenes, three historic exhibition halls and six characteristic scenes. These attractions are built on the traditional, immigrant, commercial and civic culture of Shibati. Most of them have historical relics or traceable allusions.
Take the “Bearer of Chongqing Sedan Chair” of the artistic scenes as an example. Jiaopu Lane is located between Qingzhen Lane and Yongxing Lane in Shibati. In the past, there was a small union in the lane, which is one of Chongqing’s three big gangs of bearers. Every night after work, all bearers would gather here, crowded the lane from the entrance to the end, which is quite spectacular. As the saying goes, “A dead lane is not connected to each other, and the Chongqing sedan chairs and bearers are on each side”, which describes the scene of Jiaopu Lane at that time.
In the construction of the “project of 18 attractions”, the “Bearer of Chongqing Sedan Chair” of the artistic scenes plans to take Jiaopu Lane as the story line to conduct cultural refinement and secondary creations on the development of the special transportation tool “Chongqing sedan chair”. It will also make use of the wall on both sides of the lane for artistic field reduction. Moreover, at the same time, the experience project of Chongqing sedan chair live show will be introduced to build the characteristic attractions of Shibati.
Reconstruction of the former residence of Yu Youren in Shibati
The “project of 18 attractions” also attach great importance to the excavation and survival of history and culture. Take the “Former Residence of Yu Youren” as an example, the building at No. 5, Xiangshuiqiao is the former residence of Yu Youren, who was the patriotic politician, educator and calligrapher. Originally made of brick and wood, this building is a two-floor building with a mixed style of Chinese and Western style. It is small with unique style, but it was destroyed due to the Chongqing Bombings.
The “Former Residence of Yu Youren” is planned to be reconstructed on the former site of Yu Youren’s residence in Shibati with the sign of Yu Youren’s former residence hanging on it. Meanwhile, the “Longing to return to the mainland” which the calligraphy work in Yu Youren’s own hand will be displayed on the wall. Historical exhibition halls will be arranged in the building and cultural derivative projects such as calligraphy study and Chinese classics will be held.
At present, one of the “project of 18 attractions”, the Hall of Chongqing Memory, has been officially open to the public. It consists of 4 floors, including tracing the history of Chongqing, interpreting the landscape of Chongqing, appreciating the memory of Chongqing and feeling the spirit of Chongqing. There are many precious books, images and videos about old Chongqing displayed. High technologies like wireless centralized control, immersive 3D projection and dreamlike starry sky are used, which is combined with live 3D models to reproduce the memory of “Real Chongqing, Old Chongqing”.
As the sightseeing area with the most complete view in Shibati, the urban balcony of Jiaochangkou is also an important scene in the “project of 18 attractions”. Be integrated with typical landscape city design elements, this attraction will arrange the corresponding best sightseeing space from four aspects on the basis of “searching for mountains, exploring water, enjoying the moon and appreciating the city”. Then it can offer a visual corridor of “straight looking to the upper half of the city and overlooking the lower half of the city” for visitors.
To break through the traditional static and passive sightseeing mode
It’s said that Shibati Traditional Scenic Area consists of the north-south landscape zone and the east-west tourism zone. The “project of 18 attractions” mentioned above is included in the two zones. In the tour route design, the “project of 18 attractions” will be connected in series from key areas to general areas.
“We hope that in the experience course, visitors can get excited every 5 minutes, have a climax every 15 minutes and take a rest every 30-50 minutes. The recreation period is 1.5-2 hours.” According to the relevant people, in recreation mode design, dynamic and interactive audio- photoelectric, VR and H5 technologies will be used to form an experience course with prelude, process and climax, and realize the full combination of geographical, cultural and interpersonal relationship to break through the traditional static and passive sightseeing mode.
In addition to the “project of 18 attractions”, the construction of festival activities is also a highlight. It is understood that at present, Shibati plans to launch wonderful festival activities every month throughout the year, which mainly include New Year’s blessing ceremony, Bayu snack festival, Chinese Valentine's Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, Chongqing culture festival and flag culture ceremony.
