Chongqing was represented at the Fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai with a comprehensive image exhibition hall focusing on displaying the achievements of Chongqing's economic development and opening-up. At over a hundred square metres, its design reflected the Chongqing People's Auditorium, Chongqing Grand Theater, Chaotianmen Bridge and other city landmarks, highlighting the new atmosphere and look of Chongqing.

 The delegation also hosted investment promotion events, project signings and cultural exchange activities with representatives of global companies and key business associations.   

 In 2021, Chongqing was selected to be one of China’s international consumer centres, and the exhibition illustrated key consumer areas including JIefangbei plaza, Chaotianmen and Guanyinqiao.  

 At the Chongqing Investment and Trade Cooperation Dialogue event, organised by the Chongqing People's Government and Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, 37 Fortune 500 and industry-leading multinational enterprises, international organisations and important business associations participated. This dialogue resulted in 24 trade and investment cooperation agreements with a number of companies including Air Product, Danone, Dow Chemical and Hong Kong Yusai High-tech. Projects include manufacturing, new energy, software and information technology services, intelligent technology, and bonded processing.  

 Tu Wei, vice president of Corning Display Technologies China, said Chongqing is key to Corning's business layout. Since 2019, Corning has taken Chongqing as a pivot point for expanding its business in western China, setting up the first glass substrate motherboard distribution centre in mainland China, and Corning is confident in the future of Chongqing as a new promising land for display industry.

 Meanwhile, Yu Feng, Vice President of Air Products China, said that Chongqing has prominent industrial advantages and there are great business opportunities in the automotive industry, parts manufacturing and chemical industry driven by complete vehicles, new materials industry, and semiconductor industry.
