Creating an International Consumer Centre


According to the newly released implementation plan to develop
Chongqing as an international consumer centre, by 2025, the municipality aims to be established as an international consumer centre for western China and the Belt and Road Initiative. The goal is for the competitiveness of the city as a consumer centre to be significantly enhanced. Total retail sales of consumer goods should exceed 1.55 trillion yuan and online retail sales exceed 200 billion yuan. There will be two world-class business districts, 10 high-quality business districts, 100 specialized smaller districts and a range of agglomerations for the integration of business, tourism, culture and sports.

 By 2030, Chongqing's ability to allocate consumer resources on a global scale will be significantly enhanced, its openness to international business will be among the best in China, the city's regional influence and driving role will be steadily enhanced, and it will be established as an international consumer centre with global influence, competitiveness and reputation.
