Chongqing Wanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone
Chongqing's Wanzhou, located at a key point on the "Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Zone, is a regional city in the northeast of Chongqing Municipality and the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. It is an established regional comprehensive transportation hub, material distribution centre, and international gateway to Chongqing.
Chongqing Wanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone was established in January 2021 with the approval of the State Council. It is the fifth comprehensive bonded zone in Chongqing and the only comprehensive bonded zone in the northeast region of Sichuan and Chongqing.
Transportation
Chongqing Wanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone is located in the Lushan area of Gaofengyuan in Wanzhou Economic Development Zone, in the southeast of Wanzhou urban area, adjacent to the main road, Jingkai Avenue. It is 4 km from the Gaofeng exit of the currently under-construction Enshi-Guangyuan Expressway, 10 km from the exit of the Chongqing-Wanzhou Expressway, 14 km from Wanzhou Railway Station, 20 km from Tuokou Container Terminal, and 26 km from Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport. It is connected to Wanzhou's comprehensive transportation system of "one airport, one port, eight expressways, and eight railways".
Investment
As of November 2023, Chongqing Wanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone had signed 19 projects with agreed investment of approximately 2 billion CNY. The estimated annual total import and export calue is around 18 billion CNY, and the annual output value is about 16.2 billion CNY. It is expected to reach an import and export volume of 3.263 billion CNY, with goods involving countries such as Russia, South Korea, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, UAE, and Chile.
Development
Chongqing Wanzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone adheres to the concept of "opening-up, innovation, cooperation, and win-win business", focusing on the functions of bonded logistics, bonded processing, cross-border e-commerce, international distribution, and service trade. It is vigorously developing the logistics and warehousing industries such as bonded commodity display and sales, cross-border e-commerce, and bonded warehousing, and focuses on cultivating processing and trade industries such as grain, oil, food, advanced materials, automobiles, and parts. It serves the northeast of Sichuan and Chongqing, brings together both international and domestic resources, and connects the two markets. It is striving to create a preferred destination for foreign investors to settle in the northeast of Sichuan and Chongqing, a gathering place for goods import and export, and an exploration site for reform and opening up policies. It is aiming to build an open platform with distinctive industrial characteristics, complete functional supporting facilities, excellent business environment, and prosperous international consumption, and lead in opening up the northeast of Sichuan and Chongqing.
