During the New Year's Day period in 2024, the Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission guided various districts, counties, and industries to comprehensively launch the "Chongqing Consumption Promotion Year", and plan various consumption promotion activities. During the New Year's Day period, the total consumption of Chongqing's holiday market increased by 9.8% year-on-year and 13.2% compared to the same period in 2019.


"New Year" consumption continues to rise


The retail sales of key commercial districts in the main urban area of Chongqing increased by 11.6% year-on-year and 14.7% compared to the same period in 2019. During the holiday, various shopping centres, commercial blocks, stores, and e-commerce platforms conducted diversified promotions on clothing, cosmetics, quality consumption, and held themed activities such as Aurora Show, Sleepless Shopping Night, and "FUN SiGO". During the holiday, the revenue of Bafei Restaurant, Jiulong Binjiang Branch and Taoranju increased by 42.2% and 40% year-on-year, respectively. The revenue of the catering industry in Chongqing increased by 9.4% year-on-year, an increase of 12.8% compared to the same period in 2019. Various districts and counties attract tourists to travel and consume in Chongqing through ticket discounts, group purchase discounts, and other forms. Jiefangbei, Guanyin Qiao, Central Park, Landmark Riverside Park and other commercial areas hosted a series of ice and snow fun activities, introduced various snow entertainment scenes and innovative shows, and the "cold" economy brought "heat value" to the business district. During the holiday , the revenue of farmhouse in Pengshui County, Qijiang District, and Qianjiang District increased by 26%, 20.5%, and 19.9% year-on-year, respectively.
